Wedding Cakes

A wedding celebration is an exceptional day and the cake should be just as unique as that day. I specialise in custom designing a wedding cake to suit your style and event. Please note wedding cake orders require minimum 2 months notice.
As I do not use fresh flowers for hygien
e reasons (may contain pesticides/herbicides), all my cakes are therefore exquisitely decorated  with a combination of edible mediums of either detailed buttercream, edible wafer paper or sugar flowers - This, to me, is the epitome of luxury. 

Cake flavours: a list of delicious combinations will be provided upon your design request. We do not offer sampler boxes as we are a small artisan bakery and not a commercial kitchen. As such all cakes are baked to order and no premixes are used.

Wedding Trends

As we embark on the journey of planning your dream wedding, we are thrilled to introduce you to a world where tradition dances harmoniously with innovation, all while respecting the parameters of your budget. Starting with the grandeur of traditional tiered cakes; moving on to the artistic allure of a dummy cake; being practical with the delectable diversity of sheet pan layers and finally considering the irresistible charm of cupcakes, we invite you to explore the delightful options that will adorn your special day with elegance and delight.

 

Let me walk you through your choices.

The traditional wedding cake is a tiered cake that features multiple layers stacked on top of each to create a visually stunning and elegant structure. Each layer is typically a round cake of varying sizes. It is also common to have several same sized round cakes stacked to create a cylindrical cake.

 

The "illusory" wedding cake is a wedding cake that has 'dummy cake' layers. What are 'dummy cakes'? These are styrofoam layers dressed and made to look exactly like a normal cake. The 'dummy' tiers add effect/ height to the overall look of the cake. On top of or between the dummy layers, real cake is placed for the ceremonial cake cutting. The real cake can be 1 or more tiers. Sometimes, couples will want a small real top cake to take home to freeze for the 1 year anniversary.

The Resourceful Host option is for a client who prefers mainly a dessert table that are specifically designed to follow the theme of the event and may include items such as macarons, mini cakes or standard cupcakes. The reason is that many venues offer dessert as part of the wedding package and this often means a large part of the the wedding cake is not consumed and therefore wasted. 

If you are looking at this option, these are the possible variations:

  • A tiered dummy wedding cake with a small edible cake insert for cutting and photography - this is for the main table. A themed dessert table will have cupcakes (or other dessert) for the guests.

  • A small real wedding cake for the couple to cut and keep for first anniversary or just to serve the main table plus a special dessert table for the guests.

  • Just the themed dessert table option. (I offer this option if your event has a minimum 100 people).

Wedding Cake and Sheet cake: Usually good for large parties of more than 100 people. This is a traditional cake with real or dummy layers and a separate sheet cake decorated to the event theme. The sheet cake is not displayed and just for the kitchen to cut and serve.

After filling out the cake questionnaire you will receive your cake design and cake layer sketch. A list of recommended cake flavours will also be provided.
